My father who was born in 1906 was in the ancillary fire brigade in sheffield during the second world war is there anywhere i could get hold of his records

There are files on the Auxiliary Fire Service in the National Archives at Kew.

The Sheffield Archives hold the following under reference FSM/17/1
Auxiliary Fire Service personnel ledger 1943 - 1944 Details of : Address; Age; Date enrolled; Date directed; Date withdrawn; Remarks
They also have their daily log 1939 - Sep 1940 under FSM /4/4

They are probably not working at the moment but their email is archives@sheffield.gov.uk
