Hello
I've been looking for a George Darwent and a Thomas Darwent
It's my first time using the site ... (which is brilliant and many thanks)
Well, I clicked in the Churches and Non - Confirmist link.
I selected, I thought , Stannington. I went up to put surname as Darwent and Forename as George. It came up with the George I wanted, it came up with 4 of them I think. I then did the same for Thomas. George was date ant 1820 and Thomas any 1834. Both came up.
Then my phone rang and then phone went flat. I went back in and blow me I can't get them up again. Please help....
I don't know what I did wrong.

For 1820 I could only find a George baptised at Sheffield Parish Church.

Baptised November 19, 1820, by G Harrison at Sheffield Parish Church, Church Street, Sheffield.
Parents name(s) are Ann & George (Grinder).
Thomas Darwent 1834.
Darwent, Thomas (of Sheffield, born 1835-04-24).
Baptised August 30, 1835, by E Goodwin at Sheffield Parish Church, Church Street.
Parents name(s) are Mary Ann & Charles (Filesmith).

Darwent, Thomas (of Sheffield, born 1834-07-12).
Baptised August 17, 1834, by J.Gibson at Sheffield Parish Church, Church Street, Sheffield.
Parents name(s) are Elizabeth & Thomas (Coach Builder).
Note:
Folks did go all the way into Sheffield to the Cathedral from Stannington.
If these are not the ones you had found let us know and we will continue to look for you. These are the Anglican folks, were they non conformist do you know?
