I've found a parish marriage and the original copy aswell but it's very short without fathers name on it..Is there no way of finding out who the groom's father was?
Michael BEATSON and Sarah HOBSON 29-05-1836 Sheffield
Thank you for any advice
Michelle xx
Hi Elaine,
Yes it was Sheffield Parish Church, St Peter and Paul is it?
Her father is missing aswell, but on the original it doesn't have the box for fathers name.
Hope you are well xx
Trying to make amends for leading you astray. I have just turned up their wedding at Sheffield Parish Church and as you said neither have their fathers names there. None of the other marriages have a fathers name etc so it must have been a later date than I thought for those to be added.
Dont know if you have the following burials.

Resided at 11 Albert Rd and buried on 17 Oct 1892 in ? ground;

Have you found any baptisms for any of their children?
Naming pattern of their children might also help finding Michaels fathers name.
Its just not showing up.I have tried FMP, Family search, Apprentice lists.
I had wondered if Michael might have been a Catholic.
Will get back to you if I find anything that might be pertinent.
At least its taking my mind of the Virus problems.
Marriage 16 March 1873, St.Silas.
Michael Egberry Beetson, 23, Bat. Cutler of Young St. father, Michael Egberry Beetson,
Cutler.
Mary Ann Heath, 19, Sp. of Broomhall St. father, Thomas Heath, book keeper.
There is a Michael Egburey bap at Sheffield Parish Church, 28 July 1811. Parents, George
and Ann.
There is also a burial 7 Apr 1812.
I can't find a baptism for a Michael Eggbury (various spellings) born around 1815.
I might be on the wrong track here, but, Eggbeary/Egburey is a very unusual name
and there must be a connection somewhere.
Civil registration began as a result of the 1836 Births and Deaths Registration Act together with the 1836 Marriage Act and was introduced 1st July 1837.
Before Jul 1837, Parish Registers were used for baptisms, marriages and burials.
