Thank you Moira for your very quick reply.
I am researching the Hoyland Family again after a couple of years break.
My wife's maiden name is Hoyland her name is Gillian and she was the daughter of Norman Clensy Hoyland who died in 1988.

Thank you again for your reply

Hello Elaine,

Thank you for your very quick reply.
We were in contact a few years ago you are related to my wife Gillian Hoyland and you very kindly gave me access to your Family Tree.

Thank you once again

Anthony

Re: William Hoyland b abt.1788 Sheffield. d Jan 1875 Sheffield

Hi Anthony,

It did ring a bell that we may have been in contact.

Moira and I have checked the relationship and I believe that we got back to a John Hoyland
1674 but the last two generations are very sketchy.

You need to get into Sheffield Parish Church entries (Cathedral). Dont just take our word for it.LOL Its very old research I have. Sheffield Archives hold all the registers or S&DFHS have them on a CD which you can buy through Genfair.

Our records over to the left may have the transcriptions also.

Sorry Anthony, I'm really dredging this up, but I haven't been on this site for a while.

William Hoyland is my 4x Great Grandfather on my mother's side. Martha Woodhouse's parents are 5x Great Grandparents on both my mother's and father's side.

I've also got John Hoyland (file maker) and Elizabeth Elliott as William's parents.
