Hi,

I have managed to find that a Lily Handley born 1883 in Sheffield was married in 1906 in Sheffield, however I can not see the name of her spouse. Any hints or hep on where to find this information?

Hi Sarah,

If you use FreeBMD, bring up the marriage of Lily in 1906, then, click on
the number highlighted in blue, it will bring up two mens names,one of them
is a John William Willoughby.

Marriage, 3 June 1906, Christ Church, Pitsmoor.
John William Willoughby, 25, B, Labourer, 43 Bressingham Rd, father, George, Weighman.
Lily Handley, 23, S, 55 Bressingham Rd, father, Samuel, silversmith.
Witnesses: Harry Handley and Amy Willoughby.

Hi, I placed lily Handley in the marriages on this site and this was the result:-
HANDLEY, Lily (Spinster, age 21, ~, residing at 8 Hicks St).
Married George William HANCOCK, on May 6, 1900, by J W Merryweather (Banns) at
St Philips Church, Shalesmoor. Father's name is Abraham Handley (Labourer).
Married in the presence of Thomas Abraham Handley,Lily Howarth.

Think that might be the wrong Lily because if she was 21 in 1900 she would have been born in 1879 4 years before the the Lily in question was born (1883)
