P.S.

Another relative of my daughter-in-law, sister of the above:

Parents name(s) are Mary Jane & Joseph (Metal Smith).

CHESTER, Florence (of Summer Street, born 1869-05-21).
Baptised July 6, 1869, by T Rigby at St George, Brook Hill.
Parents name(s) are Mary Jane & Jespher (White metal smith).
Note: ~
Godparents: ~ :Page No 31 :Reg No 244

Was actually Florence Beal B(Broomhead?) registered 2nd qr of 1869 -rebaptized with her brother -for good measure- with the wrong year of birth. Again, father should read 'Jasper'.

Re: Chester

Hi Geoffrey

I have amended the 2 St Stephens entries to Jasper, but the St George clearly says Jespher so it has to stand.

Thanks
Vicki

Re: Chester

I've just realised I didn't get round to thanking Vicki for her response -too much excitement about retirement & a new granddaughter! Of course we can't correct our forebears' spelling, but it shows how careful we have to be in searches not to eliminate variants.

Best wishes,

Geoffrey:slightly_smiling_face:
