Re: Seth Ibbotson

Morning Moira & David,

If and I say IF the family were Church of England the baptisms at St Nicholas have only been transcribed to 1813 but we are moving along.

Five of Seths children are listed in our Baptisms either at Wadsley or Owlerton.

Re: Seth Ibbotson

Hi David,

The 1930 census for Detroit City, Michigan.
Seth Ibbotson, Head, 77yrs, Widow.
Frank Ibbotson, son, 39yrs, single.
Maurice Ibbotson, son, 30yrs, single.
Walter Ibbotson, son, 27yrs, single. All born England.

The death entry for Seth in 1930 on Family Search gives his age as 78yrs.
Then there is his birth date as 1 Nov 1882, Bradfield, England.
THEN...Estimated birth year 1852. The 1882 must be a typo.

If the baptism I found is the right one, his date of birth on the death certificate
is wrong also.
Could it be it was his son Frank who registered his death, and it was he who made the
mistakes?

Sheffield Daily Telegraph, 22 July 1922.
Deaths.....IBBOTSON, On 24 June, of Detroit, Michigan, USA., Harry Vaughton, beloved
son of Seth and Elizabeth Ibbotson, late of Hillsborough, age 33.

Sheffield Daily Telegraph, 26 November 1927.
Deaths.....IBBOTSON, 31st October at Detroit, Michigan, Elizabeth, aged 65, the
beloved wife of Seth Ibbotson, late of Malin Bridge.

Moira.

David, just seen your last entry so ignore my comments about Frank.

Re: Seth Ibbotson

I agree, Frank could have got it wrong.
