I am looking for information on 32 Bernard Street around 1860/70's was there a hospital or some kind of institution as there seems to be a great number of young children died at that address
Looking at both the 1861 and 1871 census 32 Bernard Street seems to have been just a normal house/yard.
In 1861 it was the home of the Bacon family (4 children) and in 1871 the Martin family (5 children).Dont know if either of those names are any of the children you've come across.
Quite possible that a lot of different families lived there across the 10 or so years, having large families, with the high infant mortality rate at the time (eg i think there was a measles outbreak in the 1860s).
Thank you for that information the family I am researching is the Martin family that is how I found all those deaths just thought there seemed a lot of deaths at that address.I found this out on Indexers buriels.
Thanks
