Does anybody know where the records for those who joined the Home Guard in Sheffield during WWII are held? I have tried Sheffield Archives who told me that they didn’t have them but gave me a London telephone number to ring. I rang and was given another phone number to ring. This pattern continued for another four phone calls; the final call resulting in a recorded message about colonel somebody or other! I’ve tried searching on Google but no avail, though I might not be spotting the obvious.
Hi, not sure what you are wanting but this web site offers the chance to enter names.

There is another web site that has many different details about WW2

Hope this helps Barry Green
I'm wanting to locate the record for my maternal grandfather. He was in a reserved occupation (steel worker) and so joined the Home Guard. I've tried both the links you gave me but, unfortunately, couldn't find what I was looking for.
