Hello all

I am slightly familiar with the site having visited about 5 years ago and was hoping you lovely people could provide any info about the MARRIOTT, RAWLINS JONES or SILVESTER/SYLVESTER families?

My most recent Marriott (grandad Albert, born 1919) has recently passed away aged 98. He was brought up in Intake by his Aunt Jessie Rawlins and his uncle Joe Elston as his own parents died young. I only know the names of a few previous Marriotts and nothing about them...Tom, Ben, John (Jack?) Edith, Mary, Frank, Harold...

My grandma's side (Nellie Jones born 1921) had her grandad Walter Owen Jones, born 1868, his father Moses Owen Jones (died Canal Sheaf Works??) born 1833 and possibly another Moses, born around 1798.

When I visited this site around 5 years ago and everyone was so helpful - I think a lady found a newspaper article about Moses being found dead in a canal!?

Thanks so much in advance and even if anyone can't help, I am finding all your threads very interesting.

the two closed records could be Albert and another

Jane, according to Free BMD Albert Marriott married Nellie Rawlins q4 1915 Sheffield.
The same source says Harold Marriott mmn Rawlins was born 1916 and Albert Marriott mmn Rawlins born 1919 Sheffield.
Nellie Marriott died age 27 in 1922 Sheffield.
From gro index Nelly Rawlins born 1895 Sheffield mmn Silvester, and Jessie Rawlins born 1899 Sheffield mmn Sylvester

Edit: Nellie's burial is on this site over to the left. In the same grave is her husband Albert who died age 44 in 1934 and son Harold who died age 4 months in 1916.
