I am looking for a marriage of a Joseph Freer to Annis ???. We don't know her maiden name. We think the marriage was around 1825 and suspect it might have been in a non conformist church in Sheffield. Joseph was born in 1807 in Sheffield and Annis around 1809 also in Sheffield.

Prior to the 1836 Marriage Act it was not possible to have a legal marriage in a non conformist church. Before that, and since 1753, only Jews and Quakers were permitted to legally marry outside the C of E church.
