1911 Census and family relationship

Your help please !

In the 1901 Census, Amos Stuart age approx 27 is at 43 Trinity Street, Sheffield.
His burial entry in City Road is recorded on this site ( Dec 22nd 1949 )

In the same grave as Amos is Henry Stuart, born approx 1910

From the 1911 Census, what relation is Henry if he appears to Amos, I am presuming a son !

Which other Stuart family members are shown together in the 1911 Census ?

An interesting fact I have gained here by helping someone with their research is that Amos was involved with the murder on Princes Street when the Sheffield gangs were around in the 1920's.

Re: 1911 Census and family relationship

It says on the GRO that Henry's mothers maiden name is Sedgwick born 1910. Amos born 1903 same mother and George Cuthbert Sedgwick born 1906 - could find the girls. But Amos and Hannah Sedgwick didn't marry it seems until 1929
Name: Amos Stuart
Registration Date: Oct-Nov-Dec 1929
Registration district: Sheffield
Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding
Spouse: Hannah Sedgewick
Volume Number: 9c
Page Number: 1334

Re: 1911 Census and family relationship

Taking a look at the newspapers they sound a 'right lot' the whole family - father and sons all involved in serious crimes. Amos senior finishing up in Dartmoor so a very serious crime.
It seems they also included the Sedgwicks as well.

Re: 1911 Census and family relationship

Good evening Vicki and Sue and many thanks for the information you have provided.

I am researching for my wife's cousin who lives in Australia.
She was aware of Amos Stuart's criminal involvement.
Reading JP Bean's book ' The Sheffield Gang Wars ' there are many references to him, although his surname is incorrectly referred to as Stewart.

Re: 1911 Census and family relationship

I have to make a correction to a post of mine concerning Amos Stuart.
The Amos Stuart whose burial is recorded on this site is not the Amos Stuart who was involved in the Sheffield Gang Wars ( read the book, fascinating ! )
The Amos Stuart involved was born in 1904, I have yet to confirm the relationship between the 2 Amos's.

Re: 1911 Census and family relationship

Good evening, me again, this time with my correct head on !
Vicki did indeed confirm the relationship was father and son
