Is this your Kate:
Kate Mitchell B:1866 -D:1945 as Kate Pasley death registered at Rother Valley (Probate 1945)
1st Husband: Richard Smith B:1858 - D:1909
2nd Husband: Edmund/Edward..? Hydes Pasley B:20 May/1868 - D:25/Aug/1919 in an accident at Wath Main Colliery as Edward Hydes Pasley.
1901 both the Pasley and Smith families lived at West Melton, Wath on Dearne
1911 both widow and widower lived at West Melton ditto
Sorry I have not come up with a father for Kate as yet.
1881 census, 1 Townend, No. 33 court, Wath-upon-Dearne.
Kate Mitchell, dau, 15yrs is with her father George, 70yrs, coal miner,
mother Selina, 61yrs and brother Joe Willie, 16yrs, trimmer coal mine.
There is also a grandson, William Henry Horner, 9yrs.
In 1901 and 1911, Kate is living at 18 Victoria Road, West Melton, Rotherham.
Its very confusing when two brothers both marry Kates - Edmund's brother is I think Albert Rowland Pasley and he married a Kate. Fortunately Kate and Albert appear to live in sheffield not Rotherham.
There is however, a tree on Ancestry that confirms Kate to be a Mitchell. She married a Smith and there are 4 children shown parents Richard Smith and Kate Mitchell.
Hi, Thank you Wendy Moira and Susan, No wonder I could not find Edmunds death record as it was listed as Edward Hydes Pashley recorded in Doncaster. regards Barry
