Re: St Philips burial records

Hi Sarah,

Transcriptions are on FMP, who are you looking for?

Moira.

Re: St Philips burial records

Hi I’m looking for my ancestor Samuel Swinden who died at 77 Martin Street in May 1916. I can’t seem to find him anywhere!

Re: St Philips burial records

Hi Sarah, have you tried :- ( www.lastnames.myheritage.com/Swinden‎ ) at the present they are offering a 14 day free trial.
also perhaps Pat Swinden will see your request and get in touch.
regards Barry Green

Re: St Philips burial records

Hello Sarah,

I don't find him on FMP or Ancestry or the National Burial Index CD.

Re: St Philips burial records

He is on FMP, but as SWINDIN. Grave NP966 in Wardsend Cemetery.

Hugh

Re: St Philips burial records

Same address, but different grave and spelling...

Sarah Ann SWINDON
buried 29 Dec 1928
77 Martin St
aged 79y
grave NP235

I can't find any other burials in NP966

NP235 has two other burials: Sydney GOODINSON 1927 and Charles SARGEANT 1929. This may be a public grave.

As far as I can tell from the plans, neither grave has a gravestone.

Hugh

Re: St Philips burial records

Thanks so much Hugh for solving my mystery! It seems I have a growing number of ancestors buried in Wardsend cemetery. He’s my black sheep & went to prison several times throughout his life for theft. He began in his teens & even went to reform school for 5 years. It’s not a surprise that there wasn’t a grave stone considering !!
