I have been researching my Great Great Grandmother Maria Tingle nee Sanderson and her family, many of whom emigrated to Canada in 1800's.Through Ancestry I managed to trace existing relatives and have been fascinated to learn of their lives in Ontario and their moves to homesteads in the far West and Alberta. The information and wonderful old photographs have been quite fascinating. I am full of admiration for them and what they achieved having spent most of their lives in and around Bradfield farming prior to their emigration. I wondered if Trevor Nunn at Bradfield archives would be interested in this family History or even anyone else who has a connection. I also wondered if anyone had any old photographs of Maria and her husband George prior to Maria's emigration.
There is a website for the Sanderson's of Bradfield which has been put together by a lady called Angela Weatherall who lives down in south of England and covers all Sanderson's originating from Bradfield
It may be worth you contacting her regarding your information
The website is: http://sandersonbradfieldandbeyond.co.uk
Thank you everyone for your replies. Sorry I have taken a time to reply ,been away on holiday. Will look at these sites and see what comes up. It was just the information I have gleaned from Canada with regard to this family is amazing and I would be pleased to share with anyone who has Maria Tingle nee Sanderson and her family in their tree. I just find it quite interesting that a simple farming family have ventured from Bradfield all the way to Canada and in the sons case was granted a plot of land through the Empire Land Settlement .He developed it from wild prairie built a simple sod house and built up a farm that is still in existence to this day. The mother Maria and the two girls must have been quite feisty ladies to endure the crossing at that time without a man to help them. The eldest daughter had travelled out first but with a husband. Quite a big thing for a family from the Bradfield area I would think!!
