Death certificate

I am trying to find a death of a ? Packard one week old when buried on 28/11/1865 in Burngreave cemetery.I do not think anyone would be able to be buried without a death cert behind issued., cannot seem to find one. Most of all the other people in the same grave are members of the Price family of whom I think her mother was one.Hope some one has a an answer .
thanks Jan

Re: Death certificate

Hi Jan,

That I believe is the case now but it may not have been the case back in 1865.

If Christine Steers or Dave Yates do not reply try e-mailing Friends of Burngreave at

Re: Death certificate

If the birth or death was registered it is most likely that there would be a first name at the burial.

Re: Death certificate

Hi Jan

I think you are correct in thinking one of the Price family is the mother.
This is the birth registration on GRO index

PACKARD, - PRICE
GRO Reference: 1865 D Quarter in SHEFFIELD Volume 09C Page 410

A possible death registration is

Pickard Female Dec 1865 Sheffield 9c 283

Hope this helps.
Sue
