I have just transcribed the will of Peter Tippings of Matlock, 1635, for a friend and came across one or two difficulties with places and I wondered if anyone could help me out.He leaves some land in "Anster Riddings alias Anston Riddings" to his brother. He refers to the land as being in the "gift of Matlock and (what appears to be) Frostheys". I cannot find any references to either of these places unless the Anston he refers to is the one just over the Yorkshire border near Wales.
Does anyone know these places or maybe somewhere with a similar name?
