Am descendant of James Blunn b.abt 1796, glass cutter. I'm trying to trace his family and their glass businesses in and around Sheffield before and after his birth. It seems that the Blunn glass ceased by the late 1800s. Does anyone have any information about this please. Does anyone know of James's parents etc, as I've been using to trace to date. I understand he may have been born in Gawber, nr Barnsley around 1796 and d.at 65. Glass cutter by trade.
Anita, on FMP there are several articles about the auction sale of his glass premises on Pond St following his death.
Hi Anita, There is a James Blund christened in Darton Barnsley 1795. Haven't got a subscription to FMP but I am sure someone can check this for you. regards Barry

Following Elaine's reply, may I correct mine. The sale of his business was reported a year BEFORE his death.
To add to the christening that Barry found for Darton....the entry reads -
1 October 1795, James son of Wm. Blund of Gawber Hall, glassmaker.
I found a census entry for 1861 under BANN, but it is clearly BLUNN.
