We are more than happy help if we can but there is something rather odd about this Alice.
The one I found that fits the bill on the 1891 census has a father called George he's 43 a widow and a Engine Tool Fitter. Born in Lincoln.
Looking back to 1881 his wife Elizabeth is with him. However the children do not match the children Dave found with the mothers name of Burdekin.
The address on both census is the same 26 Bromley St Sheffield (parish St Stephen).
Does that ring any bells? How sure are you that she married Charles Samuel Buckley in Burton on Trent in Dec qtr 1894.
That was an Alice Hancock Longden.
If you could give us something other than that marriage that you know is her and is 100% correct please.
Alice Longden of 26 Bromley Street, daughter of George and Elizabeth,
married William Cook, 6 Sep 1891 at St George's. So not the right one.
I have searched the census, but I am having trouble finding the children
that Dave found. There is a baptism at Hope, Derbyshire for a Alfred Longden,
30 June 1863 parents, John and Mary. I wondered if this was the Alfred registered
at Chapel-en-le-Frith in 1863.
The only Longden/Burdekin marriage I could find took place at St John the Baptist,
Hulme, Nr. Manchester, 23 Nov 1861. John Longden to Mary Burdekin.
Fred is looking for the origins of Alice Hancock Longden who married Charles SF Buckley in 1894, Burton. The birth he found in 1871 Sheffield is clearly a false lead. GRO says they had 2 sons John and William in 1895 and 1898 both in Chesterfield. Charles S F Buckley died in Chesterfield in the 1930s. I assume the 1901 and 1911 censuses will tell us where Alice was born.

Hi Dave t, Elaine & Moira.
Thank you all again for your very kind replies. The birth given record given By Dave is the only birth record Found albeit the names are changed around. Theire marriage record does give her names as Alice Hancock Longden Oct - Dec 1894 Burton Upon Trent Staffordshire Vol 6b Page 687.
I think to claer this one up I shall send for both a Birth & married hoping the fathers name is the same on each of the records.
Once Again Many thanks to you all.
My very best wishes to you and all your families.
Fred Wheatcroft.
Fred, Ann Hancock was 18 when she had Alice. Francis Longden was 19. She named her Alice Longden Hancock and no father named. They married when Francis became 21 in q4 1872.
