Hi Karen,

FMP offer a 14 day free trial, so that could allow you to do the searches at a time convenient to you around work.

Re: 145 to 149 Worksop Road through the census

Hi Nigel
I trialled it once before and so it wont let me do it again. It was when I was trying to decide FMP or Ancestry. However thanks for the suggestion.

Re: 145 to 149 Worksop Road through the census

Thank you Moira
The only name that springs out is Gledhall. I would be interested in more info on that person if possible.
I know we have connections with the addresses in 1922 and 1934 so I guess the connection didn't go as far back as I'd thought.
I'm wondering if trade directors ie Whites or the electoral registers might help. Those I can look at for free in the local history library.
Thanks for your help its really appreciated.

Thank you Moira. Correct surname but no connection but how weird.
My family lived between these addresses it appears between the early 1920's and certainly November 1934 as my mother was born at number 147 Worksop Road.
I am particularly interested in the names Dewey, Jeffcock and Webster living at these addresses.
Thanks again for your help it's much appreciated.

Thank you Bev that's really interesting as Sarah Hughes is a rellie.
I knew she was there in 1922 as I have her daughter's birth certificate but I didn't know she was still tjere in 1925 so that's fab. She supposedly moved from Sheffield at some point to run a guesthouse in Westcliffe on Sea but I cannot find anything more about this lady and she is one of the elusive I'm looking for.
Sarah was born Sarah Rebecca Bellfield Jeffcock in 1889 in Macclesfield and married Edward P Hughes in 1917. They had a son Harold and a daughter Alice to my knowledge.
I have just recently found the death of a Sarah Hughes born Macclesfield 1890 in Macclesfield in 1965. I need to send for the death certificate to see if it's her. However I don't think it is as although she was born in Macclesfield she didn't stay there. As a young child she lived with her aunt Mary Elizabeth who was Mary Elizabeth Webster nee Jeffcock who was my 2 x great grandmother.
