Ernest's father was James Hugh Johnson.

I think they settled in New South Wales.

Using the information you provided I think I have found the following.

Evelyn May Johnson (father William mother Sarah) died in Mayfied NSW in 1954

Ernest Johnson (father James Hugh) died in Mayfield NSW in 1957

You can order the death certificates on line but they are quite expensive but an Australian death certificate lists all the children they had.

If you Google (other search engines are available) New South Wales BMDs you will see the website I used to find the info.
