I am researching family name Ennis and have a marriage record that is listed as taking place in Sheffield in 1939 on the FMP record but not whether it was a church or registry office, Groom - Thomas Ennis, Bride - Glennis Browne. Using the search facility on this site doesn't show any records for this marriage.
So I am hoping someone could advise me how to proceed.
Kevin, if you look at the list of marriage records on this site you will see which churches we have, and the dates we have for them.
The list is not exhaustive and the dates available often do not include years as late as 1939. You could try to contact someone who has a public tree which includes those names. Unless you are very lucky and that works, the only way to get what you want will be to purchase the marriage certificate.
