I can not find a GRO registration of a birth for Edward.

You will note on the 1891 census it states he was born Woodhouse. aged 6.

Thank you all for your replies, most helpful. I found Edward Darby on the 1939 register and was going on his date of birth being 1889, nothing was coming up in FMP and Ancestry, now more things are coming up with his date of birth as 1885.

The 1911 census is confusing stating that he came from Staffordshire and his other records state that he was from Sheffield.
