Re: booth of eckington

I'm also interested in these Booths, particularly Thomas & Ann who were buried in the Ridgeway Methodist Chapel yard soon after its opening; not to mention any connection with my daughter-in-law's Booths in Wadsley & out near S. Anston.
The Eckington registers used to be available on a fiche in Eckington Library.

Best wishes,
Geoffrey

Re: booth of eckington

Thankyou Geoffrey

I am trying to find a Thomas Booth who died in 1823 and is buried at Hackenthorpe
aged 40. Which means he was born 1782/83. For many years I had thought that he was the son of Joseph Booth and Jane Binney, particularly as my grandfather told me that he was related to Joseph Booth of Booth and Fisher who was also descended from Joseph and Jane.
However now I have the death the dates dont fit and the nearest birth I found was Eckington in 1782, father Thomas. This took me on a long trail in Eckington through the years but no connection to Joseph and Jane.
Joseph seems to be descended from the Aston Booths, who were carpenters.

I dont live in the area so cant get to the local libraries.
