Hi,
I have an address and house name but cannot find it on any census , Ive even trtied searching by the house name , number and change in roads.The house in on picture Sheffield , I just want a starting point to help someone with the history of their house.

The property is now called 305 HANDSWORTH ROAD , SHEFFIELD S13
Also known as MANOR VIEW , road was also called Main Road , Handsworth
The picture is s06073 if anyone would like a peek .
Anything to get me off the starting block would be brill.

The house is on the 1939 register. Living there is Hugh Hutchinson
and his wife Alice. Hugh is a carpenter and joiner.

The house is named on an 1892 OS map.
Newspaper ads refer to the house by name and suggest a family called BALL was living there in the 1890s and 1900s: Thomas and Mary Ann (Thomas died before 1901). In 1901 the house appears to be 55 Main Road (without the name in the census). In 1891 their only address is 'Handsworth'

Mary Ann has two children in 1901. One is Gerard who was killed in action in 1917.
