City Rd Burials 1881-1987 now fully searchable online

Hi everyone

I am delighted to announce the completion of the City Road Burials
project which now spans over a hundred years 1881-1987.

It’s been a long road but we’ve got there in the end

A special mention to the following
Terry Ford & Dave Yates – photography and transcribing
Jim Smedley – transcribing
Claire Atkinson and Jacqui Jackson – checking

And of course a MASSIVE thank you to all transcribers who have
done sterling work in the past on these burials

Re: City Rd Burials 1881-1987 now fully searchable online

Hi Vicki

First, I would like to say thank you for all the hard work by the transcribers and for the contribution they make to a fantastic family history site.

I do, though, have a query about the recently added City Road burial records. There's most likely an obvious answer so apologies in advance.

My mother's cousin, Richard Brown was interred at City Road in or around August 1977. He was buried in his grandparent's grave (my great-grandparents)which is the following plot - Unconsecrated ground;Grave Number 10554, Section Z of City Road Cemetery. When I search for his burial though, only my great-grandparents, George and Beatrice Wood, along with two of their infant daughters are shown as buried in the plot. I attended the funeral so I know this is definitely where Richard was interred. So, is there a reason his burial would not be shown?

Many thanks
Carol
