As this is quite recent I would suspect that they have not been transcribed and the Archives would be where they are.
They are the Local Depository for all Parish Registers.

Hi Marlene, suggest you check http://libplugins.sheffield.gov.uk/bmd/SearchMain.aspx Sheffield FHS did transcriptions on behave of Sheffield registry office whilst this is on going I think you will find 1920 births are recorded.

Just checked the BMD Sheffield Council Site and my mothers birth in 1921 is there.

I had not realized it was an on going project. Fantastic.
