Hi Phil,

Have you looked at Bradfield Archives to see if they have any material on line.

That is if its Middop you are interested in. Middop came under the Parish of Bradfield
so I am presuming that the Militia would be organized likewise.

Not an expert on this so I apologize if I am giving you incorrect info.

The earliest militia list available on Bradfield Archives online is 1819. There are a total of 11 documents returned for the name John Hill in that database, but none on the militia lists

Not sure if I can help but I live in Penistone and work in the Penistone Archive if you can let me have more details I can have a look to see if we have any information in the Archives. We have information for the Thurlstone area.
