A recent post asked about William Rhodes marriage date and the reply was 19 Jun 1821 to Ann Boardman.
I always thought his wife was Ann Sanderson as one of his children was named Mary Sanderson Rhodes; so I am wondering if Ann Boardman died and he may have remarried?
If anyone could help it would be appreciated a lot.
Paul, mother's maiden names were frequently preserved in families as second names for children. However it is just as likely that the Sanderson was William Rhodes mother or perhaps Ann Boardman's mother. I have two examples in one family. The first born son had his mother's maiden name and the second born son had his maternal grandmother's maiden name.
