Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Morning Fred,

Each Provence looks after its own BMD's and I believe they cost about $32.

Doesn't the Baptismal Certificate cover who the parents etc are?

The RC Church kept very good records.

Have a look at this material.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Hi there Fred,
I'm wondering whether he was actually in the forces or maybe Civil Defence i.e fireman, ambulance, Arp or anything like that.

He would have 36 at the outbreak of war that's why I'm thinking more on the Civil side.

Cheers Roger.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Hi Fred,

From the 1939 register.

148 Greengate Street, Oldham C.B. Lancs.
Florence A. Wheatcroft (Wood), D.O.B. 9 Jun 1903, domestic duties, married.
Harry Wheatcroft, D.O.B. 26 May 1929, at school.
Next three records officially closed.
Neville Wheatcroft, D.O.B. 12 Apr 1934, at school.
Next three records officially closed.

One of the closed records might be a girl called Evelyn.

All the household is numbered, and Florence is number one, so it
does not look like Simeon is with them.

That's if I have the right family.

Moira.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Hi Moira,
Thank you very much for your very kind reply.I must be No 9 on the 1939 census.
Shortly after this census with the exception of my brother Harry who went to live with my grand mother the rest of the Children were all placed in children's home in and around Oldham. All I can remember about the house it had a green door and a large white pot knob on it. At this time I was told Mum & Dad had separated by this time hence Mum had the name Wood attached to her name But she did not remarry until 1947.
I am going to visit my sister in Oldham next month so I shall call into the archive center to see if they can help me in any way.
My very best wishes.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Hi Elaine,
Once again thank you very much for your very kind reply and your time and trouble.
The Baptism record I have found is for William Benjamin Horace Jackson Baptized 26 - 08 - 1986 which only gives his fathers name William Jackson & mother name as Harriet Ada Jackson, Baptism Location Quebec (Quebec City) Religion Anglican Anglican saint Mathew's church. the hand writing is very poor to read.
My very best wishes.
Fred Wheatcroft.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Fred, are you aware that Harriet Ada Beeson married William Jackson in St Neots in Q4 1893?.

Re: SIMEON WHEATCROFT

Where did you find the baptismal information?

I would suggest other than an address and his occupation you have all you need.
It up to you to write to Quebec City if you want the Birth Registration.

The site I gave you tells you how to do it. It also lists the Form you would need
to fill in. I have not idea if you can do it on line.
