Thanks for looking at the NBI. I don't think any are mine unfortunately.
I will check them out more closely.
Robert Mayo my 2x great grandfather was born in Brackley Northamptonshire in 1830.
He moved up to Barnsley/Cawthorne where five of his seven children were born.
The last two in Sheffield. I believe that Robert converted to RC about the time of his Sheffield move and the last two girls were baptised at St Marie.
William his son born 1860 is the one I am trying to trace and as far as I know he was an Anglican but I suppose that could have altered also.I have Ancestry so all the census material I have. It's where he was buried that has me hitting the brick wall.
Hi Elaine, I had a little more time this morning & have checked the NBI Barnsley listings & the only Barnsley listing on the disc is for St Mary's Church. Barnsley Cemetery on Cemetery Rd which would be likely to be where your William was buried was not included in the NBI.
If you have not already done so it may be worthwhile contacting the Friends of Barnsley Cemetery at http://friendsofbarnsleycemetery.webs.com/contactus.htm

Best of luck, John
