Re: Burial Record/Grave

I think they are on the burials on this site, type in Walter Morton and it comes up with 10 options, scroll down and you will find one that died in 1964 and is buried in Crookes Cemetery, click on find in similar grave and it lists him and his wife Edith Florence and an Ann Field who died in 1959 and was living at the address you mentioned. Re: Burial Record/Grave

Thanks John S. Are you looking under Burial Records? When I put that one on and the name in the little boxes it shows no records. I may be clicking on the wrong section?

Re: Burial Record/Grave

Burial Records is the right place.

I notice that Edith Florence is transcribed as 'Edith Forence'.

If you just put 513 manch* (where the asterisk is a wild card) in the address field you will find Ann Elizabeth FIELD. Then clicking Find Similar in Same Grave as John says will find the other two.

Re: Burial Record/Grave

Isn't it wonderful how far and wide Sheffielders are scattered? Would there be any scope for an ex pats newspaper in Ottawa!!!!!!!

Re: Burial Record/Grave

Hi Monica,

I have lived in Ottawa 50 years this August and I think I remember such a Newspaper when we first arrived. There was a large number of Brits here at that time in the fledgling Hi-tech field. We are now such a diverse country the we (English) dont seem to push our birth status. We help celebrate Robbie Burns &
St Patrick's days but nothing jumps out at me for England.

Afternoon tea is served in many hotels during the tourist season.
The Scottish & Irish Store and some of our super markets import some English delicacies.

I believe that the only place I have recently seen such a newspaper was in Ft Lauderdale. USA.

My links with Sheffield are still strong my siblings still live there.
The 14yrs of Sheffield Indexers and prior to that Eng-Sheffield have certainly kept me in the loop.

Take care,

Elaine in Ottawa.
