I am searching for information re: my grandmother, Harriet (Illingworth?) Howes born August, 1867 in Sheffield. She lived there until 1892 when she immigrated to the US. In the US, she married, my grandfather, Thomas Herbert Field, who was a knife cutter in Sheffield. He immigrated the same year. I'm not sure of the Illingworth name -it's hard to read on the marriage certificate. Apparently she was married before to someone, last name Howes. I have the family in the census living in the Ecclesall Bierlow civil parish and the Gilcar Ecclesiastical parish. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
I might be wrong but I think William Howes could have gone to America with Harriet and then returned home with a different wife. In the 1911 census there is a Howes family living at 25/4 house Woodside Lane . Pitsmoor, Sheffield
William Howes 39 b.1872 Brixton,London
Ruth Howes 30 b. Sheffield Charwoman
married 13yrs 3 children 3 living
Ruth Howes 11 b. Boston U.S.A
Doris Howes 7 b. Sheffield
Lydia Howes 4 b.Sheffield
ED20 piece 27943
There is a link to a William Howes in the 1900 US census on Ancestry but I don't have access.
I thought the birth of daughter Ruth in the USA could be a lead.

In 1891 Harriett Howe is living 101 Button Lane, a domestic servant to John Todd Fish merchant and his family. She is down as married but I haven't been able to find William Howe so maybe he had died by then.
