a shot in the dark here, but are there any NEWTON family using this forum, the family related to ALICE NEWTON 1878 wife of WILLIAM NEWTON 1878,and daughter VERA 1914,vera married a pagden and my pagden family would love to rekindle a lost part of there family.

Another shot in the dark; I have a Newton family from North East Derbyshire and Worksop area. They had slight Sheffield connections; Frederick Newton was born in 1860 in Killamarsh, he was the son of Samuel and Mary. Both Samuel and Fred were sextons at Wales parish church and I think that you will find in 1881 that another Samuel Newton was sexton at the cathedral. But that is the best i can offer you really.

my grandmother's maiden name was Newton (Emily Doris Newton born 1909- 1982).
Gran's parents were William Newton 1884 - 1959 and Florence Giles 1887-1926.

William Newton's mother was Annie Newton born 1861, and there was no father listed. William had several siblings (none of which had a father listed).

Annie's parents were William Newton 1825-1888 and Mary Robinson 1831-1890 and I believe that William snr's parents were Joseph Newton 1800 - 1881 and hannah Audas (or Andas) 1802 - 1884.

I don't have my notes with me (I'm at work) but I do have details of Annie Newton's siblings.

I don't think that Alice Newton is in my direct line, but it may be that she is in the direct line of one of Annie Newton's siblings or perhaps a line related to William Newton snr.
