Tony
I wondered why there was very little action on the site.
Kind regards Brian.
Hi thank you for reply. Further details.
William J Crowley born 23Oct 1907 Midleton, Cork Ireland.
Married in 1939 in Lewisham London to Rose Davis(Davies).
I also found a death registered July 1994 for a Rose Alexandra B Crowley age 89 in Sheffield. Could be wife of William J Crowley.
There is a possibility (have no proof as yet) that Wm J & Rose had two sons names of Trevor & Raymond Crowley.
Their denomination would be Roman Catholic.
Thanks again for your help. Regards Frances
Under parish records at left side of page, there is a baptism for Maria(Maureen) Crowley of 294 Granville Rd. born 1942-04-20, baptised 1942-05-11 at St. Marie's RC Church. Parents Rosae Davis and Guiliemi Joanni. Confirmed Oct. 25, 1953.
Hello Frances
FreeBMD has a Trevor, born of Crowley/Davies parentage registered in Hackney March Qtr 1949
As there is a possibility of these folk being alive, if anyone has any contact details please notify Frances direct by E-Mail

Thanks Helen, this entry looks promising as I do not know where the Crowleys lived after their 1939 marriage in London. Is there any marriage recorded for Maria(Maureen)as I know in our local registers here there is sometimes a note of marriage with the baptism entry. Kind regards
Tony, had found the birth for Trevor 1949 also a raymond 1956. Am inclined to discount these at present as it seems a long time after parents married in 1939 unless william was in the military for world war 2. The birth helen found seems promising as Williams mother was Mary who died when he was 2 yrs old and his father died from injuries sustained in World war 1 in New Zealand. Regards
Frances
When one is looking for potential offspring of William and Rose, one should also look at other marriages with matching surnames that could confuse the issue- in the area you are interested in.
Also,it's worth searching for any public family trees on Ancestry to see if there are any links.
As these are very recent events from a family history point of view, there must be living relatives who could offer some guidance ?.
Kind regards Brian.
Hi Brian, have looked for family trees under William but no result. Have found a marriage for a Maureen Crowley in 1966 in Sheffield to a spouse Hewitt with 3 children from this marriage.
Also could you locate any burial place for William J, have tried St Michaels RC cemetery but not there. Are there indexes for other RC cemeteries.
Thanks a mill for all your help. Kind regards Frances
Brian omitted to comment on your remark ref living relatives. Situation is that until recently we had no information on what became of William until I checked his baptism entry and found a note to say he married in Lewisham in 1939. So this has led me on my present hunt for relatives in UK. Regards Frances

Might be useful,if you list what is known to you at this moment in time.
This will help us to know the extent and background of your knowledge to date, and be most useful.
Kind regards Brian.
Hi Brian the following is what I know of William Crowley :
Born 23 October 1907 midleton co cork Irl
Parents Michael Crowley & Mary Morley.
His mother Mary died in 1909 & his father emigrated to New Zealand where he enlisted in Military in 1915
We think William was left in care of his grandparents Denis & Mary Crowley.
The next account is in 1923 when William collected War medals awarded to his father Michael WW1.
Michael died in 1916 .
The next discovery was when I acquired Williams baptism record which led me to a record of his marriage in London in 1939. Then I discovered William J Crowley death record in Sheffield which stated his correct birth date. After this my findings are only speculative. Appreciate your assistance to date. Regards Frances

What detail do you seek, regarding the family, are your looking for more recent links,or wanting information of William's parentage, and siblings?.
Kind regards Brian.
Frances
The death in Sheffield in 1994 of a Rose Alexandra B Crowley,in my opinion is Williams John Crowley's wife.
The births mentioned, of a Trevor Crowley in 1949 Hakney, and a Raymond Crowley b 1856 Essex - are listed as mothers name (Davies) and is clarly shown on the birth entries, not Davis - Roses maiden name.
I firmly believe that the birth of a Maureen Crowley in Sheffield in 1942 is the right link.
Kind regards Brian.
Brian, William was an only child. What I am primarly looking for are Recent links to his family. Also it would be wonderful if I could locate his burial place as sometimes there is a record of a family member taking care of the burial. Yes I do believe also that the death for Rosa Alexandra Crowley is more than likely williams wife.
They seem to have only had 1 child Maureen born 1942.
I do not need any data on Williams parentage as I have this as I mentioned previously it is only the the last 2 weeks that I have discovered William in the UK so thus my continued search for any relatives.
Kind regards Frances
