I have noticed that, despite much effort applied to reply to peoples posts that many drop down the list, and go unacknowledged.
I too be honest can not understand why this is so ?.
The inclusion of an email addreess would be very useful,as I feel that many that are new to the site, are missing out on so much.
And the tick box for acknowledgement of a reply to ones post is a great feature.

Re: Forum posts - and ignored replies
Tut tut Brian....... LOL.
And where is your e-mail addy???????
It can not be harvested if you put it where it is supposed to be which is just below your name on the Post to Forum page.
I think what happens is people post to a number of sites and when they get an answer from which ever one they dont bother
checking back to the others. Or they are not aware of Net manners.

As you are aware,I frequent the site quite alot, and regularly check the message forum
I have no problem posting or advising of my primary email address when required.
I never ignore messages intended for me.
A number of indexer devotees are fully aware of my email address.
But to be honest I am quite happy, if I am able to assist to communicate via email - off forum,
Kindest regards Brian.

Re: Forum posts - and ignored replies
I personally think it only good manners to acknowledge the work and time someone has given on doing a look-up and, it is disappointing when people don't. Very often you're inclined to think you'll not bother in future.
As to putting your e-mail address on, I think it's a good feature but, you don't need to apply it in every post, only if you want a reply perhaps via e-mail rather than on the forum.
I like the flexibility of being able to choose.
