Re: 2 Baptisms on Familysearch

Claire, I had this site sent to me today, I was unaware of it. At the moment its only set for Baptisms.
Just entering Shearing your two relatives came up, It shows Clara Ann, entry # 38 West Brightside, and William Henry entry # 51 Sheffield West.

Re: 2 Baptisms on Familysearch

The site you have mentioned Barry is the transcriptions pages for the Sheffield register office. These are not Baptisms but they are from the birth registers.

We (S&DFHS) are transcribing the birth indexes for Sheffield register office. These are taken from the original entries, so are more accurate than the GRO reference.

You have only quoted the district and page number you would also require the register number to apply for the birth certificate. Year of birth defaults to 01/01/1897 this does not mean that she was born 1st of January 1897, but she was born in 1897.

District: West Brightside (a sub-district of Sheffield)
Birth - Register number 1 Page 38
Details: Clara Ann SHEARING - 1897

Re: 2 Baptisms on Familysearch

Hi Barry & Angela,

Many thanks for the advise regarding the new site. Even though its not the confirmation of place of baptisms for Clara & William, it does look a good site that is being worked on.

Kind Regards
Claire
