Looking for Graves at Walkley

Good Afternoon,

Some of my family lived in Walkley and I am looking for burials of some who died there. Is there anyone who has burials for the church/cemetery for Walkley?

I am looking for Barbara Palin who died in 1911 aged 0. I am also wondering if there is a Henry Shearing in this church/cemetery?

I dont know if it is possible to know if there is a Clara Ann Williamson here also? She was the wife of Fred Williamson and I am not sure if she emigrated to Canada or stayed in Walkley. I havnt yet been able to locate a death for her.

The last person I am looking for is Bertha Gill who died in Walkley on the 13th Feb 1956.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for Graves at Walkley

Hi Claire,

My Walkley Index only goes to 1900 I believe and none of the names are showing up.

The person who can probably answer your question is Hugh Waterhouse who has been in charge of the indexing for Walkley along with the MI's.

I am sure he will see your request and anawer as best he can.

Take care.

Elaine in Ottawa.

Hi Elaine,

Many thanks for for looking at the earlier years. Hopefully Hugh may be able to check the later ones mentioned :)

Re: Looking for Graves at Walkley

Hello Claire,

I can only find one of these names in the burial database, Barbara PALIN who is buried with a WILLIAMSON infant:

Grave F193
PALIN Barbara 6 Dec 1911 44 Walkley Rd. 15h. G.Moore
WILLIAMSON Marjorie 22 Apr 1918 44 Walkley Rd 4m Sydney T.G. Smith
[name, date of burial, address, age, minister]

A marker on this grave has only the initials ‘GP’

The grave book (an incomplete record) lists the grave owner as Mr. G PALIN, 44 Walkley Rd.

Thank you so much for the Palin burial information Hugh. The Williamson burial is probably Barbara's cousin. GP probably stands for George Palin who was Barbara's father.

Thank you again
