Re: trying to find where some one could be buried

do not seem to be able to find a death of William on the GRO index that occured in Sheffield. Was William still alive when his wife died? Two things spring to mind is that he died in the war and could have therefore died overseas or secondly William remarreid and moved to pastures new. John

Dawn- how did you determine- that William Thomas Moores wife - Ellen Selina Moore- was buried at Burngreave ?,I have been unable to locate the burial,at Burngreave - on this site.
The 1911 - shows the family - living at 130 Osgothorpe road West Brightside- Sheffield.
We do know that Ellen Selina moores death was registered in the June Qtr of 1914- in Sheffield.
Kind regards Brian.

Re: trying to find where some one could be buried

William Thomas Moore is the owner of the grave but isn't buried there. Ellen Selina was buried on 17th June 1914. There were two more Moore interments later, one in May 1923 and one in September 1948.

Thank You ,Very useful detail- which other Moores are in the plot, and any ideas why Ellen Selina Moore doesn't show up on the Burngreave burial details on this site ?.
Kindest regards Brian.

Re: trying to find where some one could be buried

Hi,

That happens to me a lot. If there is a middle name but you do not include the middle name in the search, a result won't be found. What I usually have to do is to look through the results alphabetically.

Re: trying to find where some one could be buried

If you add a wildcard * after the 1st name then all the entries with middle names will show up.

So enter Ellen* in the Forename search box and Ellen Selina will appear in the results.

Thanks, Caroline. Must admit, I usually use wild cards to substitute letters, not whole words, so that's a new one to me.
