Robert Jaques was my wife's Great Uncle. He married Lily Finch in Sheffield in June qtr 1910. Robert had brothers William and Albert and a sister Florence. There parents were Robert and Maria.

Could SKS find the family in the 1901 census and confirm Robert juniors age please.

I cannot find them in 1901 but when Maria JAQUES died in 1903 her address in the Heeley Christ church burial register is given as 47 Bradwell Street.
She was buried 28 Jan 1903 aged 52

I tried a search on the address in 1901 but 47 is not listed

Fascinating stuff is this family history research, you start out with good intentions and the plot thickens and the story becomes real mysterious ( I digress )

Would SKS with access to the 1911 census, try to find Robert and Lily Jaques, most likely residing in Sheffield.

Robert Jaques b 1887 Sheffield- occupation- Miner Filler- at coal mine
Wfe Lily Jaques b 1890 Warrington
Married for a year at the time,no children born to the relationship.
Address 59 Craven road Darnall Sheffield- the property having four rooms.

Interesting to see that some family descendants had received an education and could write. You wonder how and why somebody from Warrington arrived in Sheffield and how 2 people met. Questions that will remain unanswered forever

Lily Finch was born in Warrington- but her parents ,and family were already in Sheffield from the time of the 1891 census.
In 1891 living at 2 court 6 house Creswick st nether Hallam,and in 1901 at 125 Weedon st Attercliffe cum Darnall.

This is all intriging, because within my wife's family nobody was aware until recently that Robert Jaques who married Lily Finch existed ! In the passage of time since the early days of the 20th C, Robert and Lily I presume had children / grandchildren etc. Where are they now we wonder ??

Robert Jaques was born in Sheffield in the June qtr of 1886.
There is a death recorded in Sheffield in 1949 in the first qtr for Robert Jaques - aged 62.
I have been unable to locate any offspring to the marriage.
