lived in lane end childrens home from the age of one till 15, ( 1955 to 1969 ), i know all my school reports & photos were kept every year & proberly other info about me , lane end closed as a childrens home 30+ years ago, still is open as a education center & other things , been there to see if they had any info were all the said items would be , they dident know, would like to know if a place to look or visit, also if any body was in care there same time as me , would be great to see how things turned out in our lives,

I would imagine that all the records are with Social Services but would not be open to public view. However you should be allowed to view your own file. If you wish to make contact with others who were in there at the same time you were, perhaps you could make sontact via the Sheffield Star's contact column on a Saturday night.

cheers for reply,did get info once from i think was the social services who were on main road going to chapletown past my old school at lound side, not there now, carnt under stand why yuo can only veiw it , its of no use to them , & ive never seen it ,if my so called parents haddent dumped me in the home i would have the stuff any way, so why not now, ok then sorry for the rant , cheers
