Have tried both ancestry and FMP in the past but (in view of price, and having exhausted what info they had) decided to take a break until new records went up.
Which of the two has added the most parish records to their site in the last 7 months? I'm interested mainly in north Derbyshire, Sheffield area, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.

Re: Ancestry vs FMP?

I'm not sure which have added the most records but I do know that Sheffield is going with FMP.

I like Sue - have Ancestry ,and fmp.
if I had to make a choice ,and could only have one,I would go for Ancestry all the time.
You can reduce the cost of a Ancestry subscription,by purchasing the Ancestry ftm Platinum - 2011 - or 2012 from Amazon (new).
One gets the family tree software cd,plus six months access to Ancestrys premium records.
Just make sure you get the best price with postage,a new product matching the desription,I have given.
Kindest regards Brian.

Re: Ancestry vs FMP?
FMP has just added 70000 new Sheffield Parish records according to an email today covering 1767 to 1986

To all of you - thank you for all your helpful suggestions. Chris's message swung it for me!! I've taken out 6 months with FMP and already found 2 records which had previously eluded me. Its like all my birthdays have come at once, and I haven't even started on Ecclesfield yet! The family tree maker sounds a good deal, maybe my Christmas pressie to myself when these 6 months are up.
