Re: Lily Aldridge and John Charles Marsh Marriage abt1893--Follow up Thank you
There is a Mary Ann BAKER born in Hapton in 1846 - which is close enough to the person you are interested in to warrant another look I would think. Where did the information that her name was BALDWIN come from? I've read the other thread but I'm not sure.
1861 census Piece: 1234 Folio: 52 Page: 2
Address: Street Cottage, Hapton, Norfolk
BAKER, Philip Head 1793 Shoe Maker b. Coulton, Norfolk
BAKER, Mary Ann Wife 1811 b. Dunham, Suffolk
BAKER, Mary Ann Dau 1846 b. Hapton, Norfolk

Caroline thank you, I noticed this one before, and I am in aggreement with you. The person in the States has information and I am sure he is a little confused.
The first bell went off when Sue S, found the Burial for Mary Ann (Aldridge). I was told from this relative who also provided a photo of James Aldridge that he married Mary Ada Baldwin. I know that if he had J Aldridge it could have been John!!.
While I was researching Lily in the States, after John Charles Marsh died in 1911, Lily remarried to a James Richard, when I tried to explain to the relative about the marriage he was adament she had not married until he contacted a granddaughter of Lily only to find she had married.
I will make contact again to see if he is able to provide further documentation.
Thanks for all your help

Hi Barry
A birth certificate of one Lily's brothers or sisters would check the maiden name of Mary A. Aldridge. That would confirm if it is Baldwin -or maybe Baker?
Lily's sister birth is
Rose Ada Aldridge Sep 1869 Sheffield 9c 415.
