Re: The baskill family of Fitzwilliam Street Sheffield c1841

Hi Sue,
thanks once again, I am chasing a family in Chorlton Cum Hardy in Manchester their seems to be a bossible like with a family Ernest Morres Jones and a Clara Jones who could be Clara's Daughter, I have found out that Clara Wheatcroft remarried in 1901 to a Ben Mallinson so I am almost certain this could be the link.
Please Let me know if I can be of any help with your searches.
best wishes.
Fred Wheatcroft.

Fred

I am not sure where Elizabeth Jerrison was born but I don't think it was Sheffield. There is a possible baptism at Dronfield in June 1827 but you will have to check the parish registers at Matlock to be sure as my records show Elizabeth Marjerrison. The spelling of the surnames were interchanged among the various families in this period and it is difficult to be certain about relationships.

Hi Fred
On the 1861 census Elizabeth states she was born in
Coal Aston, Derbyshire as you mentioned in your initial post.

John Baskell 38 Scissor grinder b.Chesterfield
Elizabeth Baskell 34 b.Coal Aston
Emma Baskell 9 b.Sheffield
Household schedule number: 151 Piece: 3470 Folio: 128 Page Number: 31

I couldn't find a birth for Elizabeth in Coal Aston, but you could consider this birth from familysearch.org

name: Elizabeth Jerrison
gender: Female
baptism/christening date: 11 May 1825
baptism/christening place: Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England
father's name: James Jerrison
mother's name: Mary
indexing project (batch) number: C00908-9
system origin: England-EASy
