Hi Betty,
Found the following on the 1871 Census.
Osborne Road, Brincliffe Villa, Ecclesall,Sheffield.
Harriet A. Forster, head, Wid. 45 Pawnbroker.
William Forster, son unm 19 Pawnbroker.
Also Sisters Henrietta 18, Annie E. 15, Lucy 12,and brothers John C. 14, Frank 11, Ralph 7, Harry 5, Horace 3 and Persius C. 1. All born Sheffield.
In 1861 the family (including Ralph senior aged 46) are living at South St. 6&7 Princess Buildings, Sheff. Ralph Snr born in Lythe, Yks.
Ralph Snr is a Town Councillor. Pawn broker & Silversmith employing 1 man and 4boys.
The odd thing is - William, Henrietta and Annie are not at the family home but in Worksop at Manton New Farm. They are down as Boarders (the only boarders there). If you want this in full let me know.
With you providing the names of the children in the 1871 census, this has proved that the Annie E in the 1861 census at Manton New Farm is my gr. gr. grandmother.
After putting the message on the message board I found an obituary for Ralph which indicated he had several children.
It would be brilliant if you could send me the 1861 and 71 censuses in full for the family if you don't mind. What you have given me is brilliant. I will now have a look at the 1881 census on Ancestry.
Annie married a Henry Odell, then a Henry Dronfield, my gr. gr. grandfather. Both died young.
