ANTCLIFF(E) family prior to 1871

Thanks Brian.
The Antcliff(e) family is known to have settled in Sheffield in or around 1871, this being John Henry Antcliff and his family.
Before this date, the family were in and around Nottinghamsire. I am unsure as to which area of Nottingham John H was born, but know from marriage certificate he married Sarah (nee Wilson) at Retford Registry Office in 1864. From cert his father was also John, and states his profession as either TAILOR or SAILOR. He did not witness the marriage, maybe he had passed away by this time.
The 1871 census states a Sarah Antcliff(e) aged 18, as a lodger with family, and I am assuming that she was his sister.
I have been unable to trace further back from this.
Unsure as to whether anyone from Sheffieldindexers could help, with this family being from Nottinghamshire.
Regards,
Sara

John Henry was born about 1845, Nottingham.
He died in 1892, aged 47 yrs, in Sheffield.

Possibly had sister, named Sarah (aged 18yrs, in 1871)

Thanks for that Hugh...I shall take time to look at this info...as for Sarah, yes it does state that she was born in Spilsby, Lincs...confusing somewhat!

I have a Sarah A in my tree at East Markham, baptised 9 July 1781 born 28 Jun 1781. She was the daughter of Luke A and his wife Mary Johnson. I notice that on the 1851 she is Unm and the 1861 she is a widow.
