According to FreeBMD THOMAS BOOTH married ANN HOBSON March q. 1848 Rotherham registration district.
Ann Hobson lived in Beighton and I would assume the marriage took place there but it is not on the copy of the St Mary index I have for there. The simple answer is send for the cerificate from Rotherham which I have attempted to do.
BUT, there is no access on line; there is no online form to fill in and although those can be dealt with by writing a letter more importantly they do not say what fee they charge. So I have 2 questions for those who know; are all fees still the same or are individual authorities charging different fees?
And if all else fails can I get the certificate from Sheffield Registry Office?
If the marriage took place at All Saints Rotherham now known as the minster, the records are deposited with Sheffield archives. The local register offices now charge £10. As it was within the Rotherham registraton district you can only obtain it from the GRO or Rotherham.
