Hi lokking for any decendants of a Harry Farnsworth born in Manchester father Thomas w Farnsworth and Edith Johnson who married in 1914 Sept qtr Sheffield I know they had a daughter Barbara Amelia 1915 and son Alfred 1917 and later another son Leslie 1925 but cannot find any others any one connect to these people.
I can't see any other children in the GRO index. Barbara and Leslie died young and are in the City Road burials on this site. Barbara is buried with her mother. Although Harry is not listed, I think his death (1955) was after the cut-off date for the transcription.
An Alfred FARNSWORTH married in Sheffield in 1937 and I think he may have had 3 children (you can find these at FreeBMD). I also think he and his wife are listed in recent electoral registers.
I think the Alfred Farnsworth mentioned as being married in 1937 was my father's cousin, but, ironically, Alfred and my father were the sons of two sisters who both married a man called Farnsworth! When I traced my family tree, there was a Farnsworth who came from Kimberley, Nottingham (he died in the 1840s), and of his children I know that one of them moved to Manchester. However, it is so far back, that I have no idea if any of the descendants of this man remained in the Manchester area. My branch (John F, James F) moved to Upper Langwith, Derbyshire, with my grandfather Tom(b 1887, son of James F) moving to Sheffield as a young man --and sadly he died at sea in 1914. The Alf Farnsworth I referred to earlier had three children --Barbara, Bernard and Dennis --and his wife was Dora. Alf died a few years ago.
