I'm trying to verify the births of two children to Ernest and Mary Emma Fox(nee Houghton).Alice Fox b.<1907>and Florence b<1908>.
It's a long and complicated tale.lol.According to my husband's family,Mary Emma had been married before, supposedly to someone named Rooker, and had two girls,Alice and Florrie.Needless to say,I can find no records to back this up.However, there is a marriage of an Alice Fox to Albert Rooker in 1930.
Mary Emma did marry twice, but only after the death of Ernest in 1930.She married Alfred Birks 1933.Indeed, they are all buried together at Burngreave.
Again, according to "Family Lore",my father-in-law Ernest Fox b.1910 was supposed to be the eldest child, followed by Harry b.1914,Herbert b.1917 and Elsie b.1923.My problem is who are Alice and Florence?
I do'nt have a subscription to Ancestry at the moment and wondered if some kind person would check to see if on the 1911 Census,Ernest and Mary Emma have two daughters and a son.
Many many thanks, and hope you have'nt all nodded off.
in 1911 Ernest and Mary Emma Fox were both 25 been married 6 years and had 3 children all of whom were still alive. Alice aged 5 Florence Anny aged 2 and Earnest aged 8 months. Living on the Wicker. John
