Luckily, Dog and the team get a tip that Samu's playing semi-professional football in the San Francisco area, and they head for California. With only hours to go before the bond comes due, Dog swoops down on a construction site where Samu is supposed to be. Will Dog get his man--and save his money?

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

Glad the Dog and Beth got their man.....I watched the show and was getting increasingly agitated at not the fugitive( he is what he is and is expected to avoid arrest usually) but rather the management of the football team here setting a really bad example in helping this person avoid justice.....I'm not in your area so I really don't care but this will affect the public's trust for sure.....

very shameful and disgusting behaviour by the owner and management

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

What I saw on the show was loyalty. Nobody snitched on my boy. If you want to find him,you gotta do that on your own. It just makes me glad that I'm not friends with any of the people talking about how bad our organization is for not saying anything. Isn't it time for you guys to go call the cops on your neighbor who's stealing cable or made a turn without using their blinker? We are football players. Judge us by what we do on the field. In our case, that's blow teams out and win championships.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

So was this team named Renegades because they had a real life criminal renegade being harboured by the team president? lol , it is kinda ironic.
Guess I have a diffrent idea of loyalty, I like to be loyal to the law, victims of criminals, and loyalty to me would not be selling my boss up the river after he was kind to me by letting him lie for me and not turning myself in. Loking at the website obviously this team is made up of winners, shame a few vad apples have to stain all that they have achieved.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

Some of you loyal citizens and Dog lovers out there are going overboard. You know nothing about the players or team. You've just been angered by A TELEVISION SHOW!!! His acting was worse than anything that I've ever seen. He has a gun and two clips on him, while he works construction?! I'm not condoning what Sam did before I knew him. That's his life. I'm saying that I don't see a problem with his friends/teammates not turning him in or getting involved. Seeing all of these people who all of a sudden know about the Renegades because they watched an episode of Dog is amazing. I know it's easy to call people out and talk tough over the internet, because there seems to be alot of that going on all of a sudden. Unlike a couple cats out there,I won't pretend to be something that I'm not and make idle threats. However,if you live in the Bay Area and feel like you're so disgusted by what you've seen of the Renegades, come talk to us like a man. Then,if you still feel so much animosity,I'm sure you won't have a problem finding someone that's willing to take off a championship ring and work things out with you. Or you can keep your opinions to yourself and let what happens on tv stay there. And the last time I checked ,cops weren't the most honest and law abiding people out there.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

I see at the top of this page a request for clean language for the sake of the children. How about teaching children not to lie? How about teaching children not to befriend criminals? How about teaching children to own up to their mistakes? I think parents in Daly City should boycott the team and its sponsors until the players and owner involved in lying and covering up for a criminal make a public apology. That was disgraceful behavior. You should all be an example to children to admit when you're wrong. Put aside your pride and make things right. Your loyalty should be to the fans, not to the worst of yourselves.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

No matter how you cut it, whoever watched the show watched the owner make a fool of himself by telling a bold faced lie about what he knew or didn't know. It's one thing to keep a secret and another thing to tell a lie when you are called on it. If he wanted to be loyal, if you can call it that, he should have had the cameras turned off rather than going on public record. That was just a dumb move.

The players did clown DOg and those guys on the field. THat was kind of funny. Nobody was clowining anyone when they had machine guns on them though.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

I had no idea that when I turned on dog that I would have seen the s#$t that took place. I was a felony fugitive too and the best thing was my extradition. It made me a man who had to pay the piper since it was me who robbed him. My prayers go out to sam and his family. Cisco I thought you were gonna knock out the little puppy dog when he ran up on you and grabbed you. Am I dissapointed that you did'nt? yes and no. I called Matt while the show was airing to clown on him and Picolottis' wiseguy skit. "I dont know him never seen him." I respected the loyalty until I saw the end of the show. Steroids f#@$s with your brains as well as your balls kids. You know that johny law is lookin for the man and you lie on tape and show up with him the next day and the shot in the head is that sams workin for you!!! Way to go crimie you have just won the semi pros dumbest criminal award. To the team I respect how ya'll represented the yay and sent the dog and his pups with tails between their legs. Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

You know I will give you guys props cause it looks like you have one heck of a football team going. It is sad though the image that it gives semi-pro football when a team owner hides a FUGITIVE like that. No matter how you twist it that is exactly what he was. Any decent players (and I don't mean talented I mean decent human beings) on the team, or anyone that has any RESPECT for the game, should be ashamed of the image it gives also. I also played semi-pro football and I will say there are alot of players and teams out there that the pro players could learn a thing or two from. It doesn't appear any are on your team though! Oh yeah and the bottom line is Dog got the dude!

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

First of all, it is unfortunate that the Daly City Renegades have been vilianized on national TV for something totally unrelated to Football. It is very unfortunate that one of the Renegade players had gotten himself into trouble years before the Renegades were in exsistance, and it has reflected on the organization.

The player in question is a good man. He is someone who made a mistake as a young man, long before he was a member of the Renegades. He has served his time and is due to be released in a few weeks, so I guess he isn't the big time criminal he is being portrayed on a comedy sitcom. If he were such a big time criminal he would be doing 20 years like the comic book bimbo said, not months and being released.

Minor League Football serves several purposes. It gives players a chance to keep playing when there careers would otherwise be over. It gives some players a shot to move on. A small percentage make it back to the proffesional ranks. Some young men stay out of trouble by being part of a team.

Some of our players are model citizens running major corportations, some are not.

I have been part of this team for the three years of it's exsistance and we have been very successful on the field (49-3). This past season there wasn't a better team in the country, but, my most satisfying moment as part of the Renegades was in our first season. We had a player who wasn't good enough, in fact, we were going to cut him. When he learned he was to be cut, he came to me and said, coach, "I need this, being part of this team keeps me out of trouble". We kept this player for that reason. I looked around and realized that we were probably keeping a lot of young men out of trouble. That is one of the reasons I kept doing this for three years, I felt that, along with being the best minor league football team in the country, that we were actually doing some good in the live's of these young men. I am not going to let an episode of this comic book character ruin the good we have done ON and OFF the field, you shouldn't either.

Nobody is perfect all the time except Jesus Christ. Don't judge, be judged.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

Did Samu break the law and run from it? YES

Did people willingly cover up for him? YES

How are grown men going to think it's funny that in a situation like that, a bounty hunter got shoved for trying to do his job? "Dog got punked"- Dude, this isn't the A-Team. Anyone giving that guy props needs to grow up already. It may be reality tv and maybe Dog and his family are over the top and maybe Samu is a different person now than he was when he got into trouble. He could have taken care of this and he didn't. He kept saying "That was 3 years ago," Then 3 years ago, it should have been dealt with and put behind him. He is a Daly City Renegade and there is nothing wrong with supporting friends and family and teammates. True loyalty is hard to come by. But if that support comes down to allowing someone to just dump off his responsibilities and not take care of their business, then that isn't loyalty or friendship, it's encouragement. Doing the right thing is not always easy. But the right way sure looks easier than the situation presented on national, if not world wide, tv. Best wishes for your squad this season.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

Sissy I notice that you like to get in the middle of things. I don’t think this is a funny matter and it’s not a time for some bored people to bash a great program like the Daly City Renegades.
I know the Renegades owners Matt and Tom personally and they have scarified a lot for there guys.
Sam made a mistake a long time ago but he is a different person today, and the wuss Dog almost got a taste of what it is like to face the Samoan nation.
Sam is getting out soon and believes me the show made it look a lot worst than it was. So before you start getting a bunch of cowards going on the Renegades message board blasting them behind fake names.
Know the Renegades are a tight bunch of players and they will take it personally.
I wish Sam and the rest of the Renegades family the best and you will all be in our prayers. Now that what we should all be saying.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

While I watched the episode last night I had mixed emotions about this. I understand he jumped bond on a $75,000.00 bond. Whether it was 3 years ago or not is not the point. Do you SLAM an entire team who is nationally known (at least to us semi-pro guys)? No..... it ain't right. I know alot of boys that would choose NOT to get involved if someone they knew was wanted. Besides, what one man did in his past should NOT reflect what this team has accomplished or what they are about for that matter. Pay know mind to the groups of haters on this board. Stay true to yourself and your team. And know that the Southern Michigan Timberwolves support ALL semi-pro football. Good luck in '06.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

What a lot of you knuckleheads don't know is that show was filmed at 2 totally different times, months apart. The first part at the field when they said they hadn't seen him was filmed about 8 months prior to the bust at the site. That was the truth. He was hurt and left the team. How do you all know that when Sam came back he din't tell Matt that it was taken care of? Sam disapeared for months after the incident at the field and was no longer on the team. The way they edited the show was an illusion. They fooled you into thinking it was the next day. That was all BS.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

I hear where all you Renegades are coming from. But like the quote goes "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" Loyalty is helping those you're loyal to not letting them dig their hole deeper. If he's a different man now why didn't he take care of his **** when he became this "New Man" Start over with a clean slate instead of dragging all of you who were so loyal to him into his mess. How loyal was he to you to put your team at risk like this? He knew this was a possibility yet he did it anyways. He ****ed you by not thinking or not caring enough to show his loyalty to his team by cleaning up his ****.

If loyalty just means not snitching then you're talking about mob loyalty which isn't loyalty at all it's just a scheme to keep protect the guys at the top.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter

I'm amazed at many of the comments on this message board.
Yes, we all make mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance.
Having said that, part of being a responsible adult means owning up to your mistakes.
Sometimes life is like a hockey game. You have to sit in the penalty box.
Running from your problems doesn't make them disappear.

Many of the replies on this board underscore disturbing attitudes we see now, particularly among young people.
People are proud of the fact the team management claimed to have no idea where to find the young man.
They seem to have the belief there was something honorable about "protecting" him from fulfilling his obligation to society.
Law and law enforcement are the enemy.
In this bizarro world doing the right thing becomes the wrong thing, and vice versa.

This saddens me.

Like I said earlier I give you guys props for the job you do on the field. I also hope that when Sam gets out he stays clean and puts everything behind him. The thing I find funny is some of you keep talking the kind of man Sam and the owner is. Part of being a MAN is owning up to the things you do. Dog shouldn't have had to look for him, he should have took care of his own business. The owner by hiding him wasn't being a FRIEND a true FRIEND would have talked him into turning himself in so they both wouldn't have gotten punked on national telivision, and let him know you guys would still be there for him when he got things taken care of!

Samu should have butched up and taken Dog's offer and turned himself in at the beginning. Then, the show would have lasted 15 minutes max, and life would have been 10x easier on Samu's family and team -- especially since it turned out that his jail sentence amounted to a few weeks total. So much wasted energy and pain when it could have been solved so easily...
